Our Leadership

John Michael & Tami Jean Barajas

John Michael and Tami Jean Barajas came to Trinity Church in Cedar Hill to pastor Velocity in 2007. The couple originally came to Trinity at a young age and both attended Trinity Christian School. In 1997, they stepped into their first pastoral roles as Trinity’s Youth Evangelism/Campus Pastors. From 2000-2004, they ran the Sunday morning Junior High Ministry, while writing and producing drama’s for the HD Youth Ministry. John Michael and Tami Jean then spent three years as the Youth Pastors of Vertical Life Student Ministries at Bethel Assembly in Temple TX, where they founded the Central Texas Master’s Commission.

Growing up in the church, Pastor John Michael accepted Christ in his life when he was 3 years old and was baptized at the age of 8. During a summer youth camp after graduating high school, he felt the Lord leading him to young adult ministry. At that point, he pulled "a Jonah" and ran from the Lord. When he was 19 years old, he recommitted his life to God, entered Master’s Commission, and has never gone back. He now desires to share that passion for Christ with others. "Statistics say that 80 percent of young people that attend church, after graduating high school, they leave the church. That’s bad. I want to impact that number.

Pastor John Michael says being a pastor is what God created him to be. "I was made for it. It is life-giving. I love leading people to be disciples of Jesus." God has called John Michael and Tami Jean to train young adults to live counter-culturally and live a life filled with the adventure that comes with living for Jesus. "My hope is that by being with us, you can watch our lives and learn how to be men and women of God. We believe that God is using us to speak into your lives to help you become all that He has designed you to be."

Jon & Kami Allen
Jon and Kami have been in ministry for 10 years. They started out as youth pastors at a church in Lufkin, TX. After two years there, they then headed up to Paris, TX, where they spent five years as the Youth and Worship Pastors. In 2006, the couple returned to Trinity, where they both attended during their college years, and began working to build a college and career ministry, now known as Velocity. Today, Jon serves as Velocity’s Small Groups Pastor.

Jon felt the call to ministry when he was only 9 years old, and today, he continues to follow the passion God has placed in his heart. "I enjoy fulfilling the call and purpose that God has for me. I also enjoy the relationships that are formed and built during the process of pastoring. It is great to see the results of God working in other lives and knowing I had a small part to do with it."

Jon and Kami both grew up in the church and are all too familiar with the rate of students that head off to college and lose their desire to serve God. They hope to raise up men and women who are faithful, passionate, and holy toward God. "We know that there is an attack of the enemy against young adults, wanting to destroy their lives. We want help young adults understand the tactics of the enemy and encourage them to live lives that are full of God’s destiny. Every person has a destiny designed by God, and we want them to truly grasp that with all their hearts."
